WINERY CRETE
Our story begins in 1906, when my
great-grandfather Emmanouil Gavalas
planted our first vineyards. In 2001, our
vineyards became part of the organic
farming movement as we believe that
organic products protect the environment
from being polluted by pesticides and
this, in turn, protects consumers. In
2004 we opened a new state-of-the-art
winery in our vineyards. The varieties we
grown in our vineyards today are Vidano,
Vilana, Malvazia, Spinas Muscat, Kotsifali,
Mandilari, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and
Cabernet Sauvignon. All the stages in the
wine-making process, from growing to
bottling, take place in our state of the art
vertically integrated unit. The facilities at
our winery can be visited by anyone who is
interested in learning about the stages of
production phases and in tasting all of our
different varieties.
