gate, a world of alleyways filled with flowers, arches and small churches
accompany you as you make your way to the heart of the village to ‘To
Steki: The Art Café’. Once a stopping point for hikers, serving coffee
and snacks, the venue was taken over by Antonis and Maria a few years
ago who have now created a picture-perfect, overwhelmingly hospita-
ble meeting point, serving fresh seafood delicacies and an extensive ar-
ray of extraordinary mezze such as stuffed calamari and their legend-
ary chickpea soup. You’d be fooled for thinking that you have stepped
back in time, which is precisely when, if you’re lucky enough, Antonis
and Maria, both of whom have musical backgrounds, throw impromptu
parties, making a visit to their beloved Art Café even more special. •
