who has collected oral traditions passed on
from generation to generation – explained to
me how far back authentic hospitality goes
in mykonos. in ancient times, mykonians
opened their doors to take in travellers on
their way to delos, offering a roof, a bed,
a meal. although many had never left their
island, they showed kindness and hospitality
to diverse people from faraway lands. today,
mykonos locals continue to heartily welcome
travellers, and travellers continue to arrive
