Moving halfway across the world to her
ancestral home on Crete, winemaker and artist
Alexandra Manousakis tapped into the island’s
wealth of energy and creative inspiration and
built the colourful life she dreamt of.

 Arab, Venetian, Ottoman—where inimitable
culture, natural beauty and the Cretan life-
style come together in a colourful, captivating
experience, perfect for escaping drab routines
 and delving into creativity.
Of course, the best plans are those that
evolve beyond our expectations, and Alexan-
dra’s “one or two-year break to find herself” “CHANGE SHOULD BE WELCOMED,”
soon turned into the journey of a lifetime. Tak- ALEXANDRA SAYS, “EMBRACING NEW IDEAS

Chania, she found herself exploring a whole AND NEW GENERATIONS WHILE ALSO
new world of possibilities, navigating cultural EMBRACING HISTORY AND RESPONSIBILITY
differences, and discovering herself and her
passions. One endeavour led to another, and FOR THE FUTURE.”
Alexandra has thrived in each new role: wine-
maker, mother, brasserie owner, activist, and
creative force, translating her adventures and
experiences into paintings and ceramics that
blend bright colours and bold designs with
humour, heritage and a globally inspired twist.
Yet bold as her work is, its appeal is deeply
rooted in nuance and, like Chania, an appre-
ciation for the finer details. “The beauty in ce-
ramics is in the texture of the clay and the way For Alexandra, the
