illustrious National Geographic 2022 Annual edition for ‘Food Journeys
of a Lifetime: 500 Extraordinary Places to Eat Around the Globe’, Tryfon N.
Georgopoulos has worked with a plethora of Greek and international
lifestyle tourism magazines.With years of marketing management
experience, he has a clear insight into what communication and
advertising “works” and is considered a specialist in Hotel and
Architectural photography as well as in Portrait & Food photography
- encompassing a portfolio of 32 Michelin starred chefs in Greece
and Europe.
As the main photographer behind the beautiful images showcased
throughout this summer’s magazine, we caught up with Tryfon to talk
about tourism related photography and what makes working in Greece
and Santorini especially so special.
What do you ultimately believe the role of the Greek photographer
is in tourism and the hospitality industry?
It’s huge. Photos dominate any holiday brochure, any type of printed
advertising material, billboards, guide, brochures for tourist attractions…
Images of destinations, landscapes, hotels, people relaxing and having
fun. Before choosing a destination, the public wants to see people
having a good time, beaches or attractions that they will dream of
